This will be the place where I update schedule information and recognize wrestlers for the 2017-2018 wrestling season. So far it has been a great summer for wrestling! McKay Gygi, , Soyer Haaga, Owen Hall, , Leighton Helmstetler, Lucas Spillett, Cameron Wallace, and Tyler Wallace all spent a week up at the D-1 camp at Wasatch High School learning lots of great moves and honing their skills! They all did great and I can't wait to see how it improves their wrestling next season. Tomorrow I will be taking a few guys up to Jordanelle Reservoir for some leadership training and a fun boating trip, it should be lots of fun!
Well, whether you like it or not, summer is almost over. Soon we will all be back to school and one step closer to wrestling season! I hope you all enjoy the last couple weeks! I have been working hard this off-season and that hard work will be manifested next season, I think you guys are going to like the way you'll look.
Congrats to Riley Noble and Isaac Wilcox on a fantastic summer of wrestling. While we were all out playing during the summer they were working hard in the wrestling room. They both wrestled really well at the Western Regional Tournament and Isaac went to Fargo for Cadet Nationals! What great experiences! I am so proud of both wrestlers.
Lots of wrestlers came to the open mats that we had and hopefully next year we can plan a few more open mats. To give you a piece of what you can expect next season I am adding a PDF of some of the posters that will be up around the room shortly after the school year starts. Enjoy!
That was lots of fun, lets do it again next year!
We successfully completed our first summer camp this week and I thought it went really well. We spent Monday together doing lots of fun things like community service, running stadiums, lifting weights, playing musical chairs and lots of fun games! The we spent Tuesday and Wednesday learning lots of great moves from Tyler Jensen and Matt Brown. I will be posting a video of the moves they taught as soon as I get a copy from Hunter High School. Those of you that missed the camp will want to go check out the moves Matt Brown taught as we will be incorporating lots of what he does into our program. I have also posted some pictures from the camp. I can't wait until next summer!
First mistake tonight... and probably not my last mistake, unfortunately. I have no idea what I was thinking when I started planning out the summer camp dates but it will be June 8th-June 10th. June 8th will be at Olympus and June 9th-10th will be at Hunter High School. If you come on June 10th-12th you will miss out on some great wrestling. Please go to the Summer Camp page to get an updated itinerary effective...now. Please spread the word so that this does not create any confusion. Thank you!
I have lots of great stuff planned for our summer camp June 8th-10th! Go to the summer camp page to view a copy of the itinerary and to get a list of what items you should bring to the camp. The focus of the camp this year is team unity, so even if you are doing a football camp please make it to as much of the camp as you can.
